Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms
By purchasing, downloading, or using Omnius software ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.
2. What You Get
Omnius consists of two components:
- Server: A self-hosted backend that you deploy on your own infrastructure with a license key. This is the software you purchase.
- Client Apps: Android TV and macOS applications published on their respective app stores. These apps are free to download and can be configured to connect to any Omnius server instance by entering your server URL in the app settings.
3. License Grant
Upon purchase, Omnius grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the server Software subject to the following conditions:
- Personal Plan: Licensed for 1 server deployment. For personal, non-commercial use only.
- Business Plan: Licensed for up to 5 server deployments. Commercial use is permitted.
- Enterprise Plan: Licensed for unlimited deployments as specified in your custom agreement. Includes white-label rights.
Each license is identified by a unique license key in the format OMNI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. You are responsible for keeping your license key confidential.
4. License Validation
The Software connects to Omnius license servers to validate your license key. This includes:
- Activation: One-time validation when the Software is first deployed on a server.
- Heartbeats: Periodic check-ins (approximately every 6 hours) to confirm the license remains valid.
- Machine Fingerprint: A unique identifier generated from your server to track deployment count against your plan's limit.
If the license server is temporarily unreachable, the Software will continue to operate under a grace period of up to 7 days using cached validation data. After the grace period expires without successful revalidation, the Software will enter a restricted mode.
5. Demo Mode
The Software may be run without a license key in "demo mode" with the following limitations:
- Maximum 10 movies
- Maximum 2 TV series
- No live channel support
Demo mode is intended for evaluation purposes only and is not licensed for production use.
6. Restrictions
You may not:
- Share, distribute, or sublicense your license key to third parties
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with the license validation system
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Exceed the deployment limit of your license plan
- Use the Software for any unlawful purpose or to distribute copyrighted content without authorization
- Redistribute, resell, or offer the Software as a service to third parties (unless you hold an Enterprise license with such rights)
7. Ownership
Omnius retains all intellectual property rights in the Software. Your purchase grants a license to use the Software, not ownership of the underlying code, design, or technology.
8. Payment and Refunds
All plans are one-time payments processed through Paddle, our authorized payment provider. There are no recurring fees or subscriptions. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Service.

9. Updates
Your license includes all updates within the same major version (e.g., all 1.x.x releases). Major version upgrades (e.g., from 1.x to 2.x) may require a separate purchase or upgrade fee. We will provide reasonable notice before releasing a new major version.
10. Support
- Personal Plan: Community support via email.
- Business Plan: Priority email support with faster response times.
- Enterprise Plan: Dedicated support as specified in your agreement.
11. Client Apps
The Omnius Android TV and macOS client applications are distributed through their respective app stores. These apps are free to download and allow users to connect to any Omnius server by entering the server URL in the app settings. The client apps are provided "as is" and are subject to the app store terms of the respective platforms (Google Play, Apple App Store).
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
13. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Omnius be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Software. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
14. Termination
We may revoke your license if you breach these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your license key will be deactivated
- The Software will cease to function after the cache/grace period expires
- You must stop all use of the Software
15. Content Responsibility
Omnius provides a streaming platform infrastructure. You are solely responsible for the content you host, stream, or distribute using the Software. You must ensure that your use of the Software complies with all applicable laws, including copyright and content distribution laws in your jurisdiction.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
